I photograph because I'm curious.
Connecting the dots backwards, that curiosity started out in two ways: playing with Lego, and taking things apart. After that, it turned into finding out how things worked without leaving them in a mess of broken bits on the floor. How to make things from scratch was the next obvious step, which put me at Oxford Brookes studying Automotive Engineering. For three years I designed parts of Formula One cars for Williams.
Somewhere along the line, perhaps after getting my first serious camera, it became clear that my curiosity had jumped ship, away from the role of being an engineer and towards life in general, and how everyone else lives their lives. This is the journey I am now on, photographing and learning about what makes me curious.
I hope it makes you curious too.
