Life is about learning. Learning is about asking questions.
Photographing Things As I See Them
I'm a reportage photographer, trying to show you the extraordinary in the ordinary. Highlighting the things you often see, but never truly notice. Why? To help you ask better questions, of yourself, and those you talk to, because it will make your world a better place.
I fund my projects by producing prints for your walls, to help you learn about what people are doing and to challenge your assumptions. My weekly newsletter is about how my projects are progressing, new photographs I’ve made and things I'm finding interesting.

An Unseen OxfordThis is a work in progress!
An Unseen Oxford is a documentary photography project based in and around the City of Oxford. It aims to look behind the scenes, and find people and activities which most residents and visitors wouldn’t notice or realise they were there.
Find Out More
Somedays I research projects and send emails and read anything and photograph local things and come up with more ideas and print pictures and brew coffee and get distracted and wash up wishing we’d buy a dishwasher and hoover and avoid computers and dream and procrastinate and battle creating work and listen to podcasts and exercise. On the other days, I work as an engineer to pay for this, and squeeze what I can in before and after.
By night, I write it all (mostly) here, being as unfiltered as possible, spell check it, speak about it, and share it.
Today’s work isn’t my best.
That is for tomorrow.
My views are my own. They are full of contradictions, often irreverent, and sometimes I swear. Get over it.

Don’t take my word for it
"I enjoy the thought provoking ideas you have, finding different emotions within photographs. I enjoy how you explore beyond the simple ideas, the history, the quotes and love reading about the places and people you write about. I enjoy taking time out of a hectic schedule to sit and study the photos and read the emails. The emails go beyond photos, with books and websites, to read an email again and discover parts I’ve perhaps missed or skipped over is fun and interesting."
